How can I fix my Ford Transit van?

I need to tighten the fan belt on my 1994 Ford Transit 100S (?) 9 Passenger bus - gasoline, not diesel. Thought I knew how to do this, but I cannot seem to move the alternator.

You need to loosen off the alternator mounting and also there's an attachment bolt which secures the long adjustment bolt in place. Then turn the adjustment bolt to provide correct tension, there should only be around 5mm of "swing" in the belt. Then re-tighten attachment bolt and alternator mounting, checking that the tension is still correct.
