Update Error 050730?

I keep receiving a text message from an unknown source with the above message.
I suspect that it may have arisen after I sent a text message which could not be sent/delivered. No matter how often that I delete it, it always returns with the date and time the same, ie 22 May 2011 16:43

i have same message 050730 on 13 aug 2013 and cannot get rid of it. When restarting phone, T mobile is displayed, was orange. Worse is that phone now can only be used for emergencies 999. Cannot text either and i am with orange and had just topped up with £20. What a bummer!!!!!!!

I just had the same problem - every time i would turn the mobile on it just kept sending me this error message - 72 in all when i turned it on after not having used it for a few days!!! have followed the advice above (to delete all messages) and hope that will sort it out.

I first received this error repeatedly the same month as jimbo - May 2011. My experience was similar - it just kept on coming! I thought it might have something to do with the fact that the phone was brand new, and this was happening within the first 24 hours of use (using an existing SIM). After trying the measures mentioned above, it still continued, but then after a few days, it just stopped, for no apparent reason.
Now - 15 months later, I've started receiving it again, on the same phone, several times a day, always showing the same sending time, and from a sender whose name consists of graphics symbols.
When I try checking my PAYG balance in the usual way by sending the word 'Balance' to 450, instead of receiving balance details, I get the 'Update Error: 050730 text. This has been happening for three or four days now. I have a good, strong, Orange signal.
I've started wondering if some, all, or any normal texts being sent to me are also being replaced by this Update Error text, especially as someone yesterday was certain they'd told me something, but I hadn't received it. I've sent myself a text from the phone and this was received normally.
I've tried deleting it every time I receive it, of course, and turning the phone off for a while, and on again, but still the Update Error texts arrive.

Has anyone else been experiencing this problem recently? Any ideas how to sort it?

I keep receiving the same message, Update Error: 050730 every time I turn the phone on in the morning. I delete anywhere from two to five, sometimes six of these messages, but they always come back the following day.
Might it be something to do with T Mobile now providing additional coverage and there's perhaps something wrong with their linking in to Orange's network?

Just seen your reply and I should have said that I had already deleted everything in my Inbox, Outbox and Draft Message boxes to no avail, but thanks for the pointer, it may help someone else with a similar problem.

Looks like I may have resolved the problem by folloowing the instructions on the Orange website. They recommended switching off the phone, then switching it on again.
Nearly 24 hours have passed an the error message has not come back after deleting it :-)
After turning back on, I also got a message to say that my phone had detected the TMobile signal for the first time so, hopefully, my reception should improve in areas where the Orange signal was poor.

Have you deleted the origonal message? check your draft messages etc. it could still be trying to send it.
