how do you add water to a standing BAXI boiler when there is no gauge ?

we had a bust hot water radiator pipe, all the water leaked out, the pipe is now repaired but a screeching knocking sound now comes from the Grounfos water pump, we tried to bleed the Radiators but it seems there is not enough water in the system, we want to feed water in but cannot see a gauge to feed the water. Help!!! how do you feed water to this Baxi heating system and how do you know how much water to put when there is no gauge

I agree with plumbgasdoc. system could be airlocked, or header tank in loft may not be filling. check and make sure there is water in header tank, possible that float valve has stuck. Could also be dirt in header tank blocking feed pipe to system. dont try and run boiler/pump until you are sure there is water in system, it can cause more damage.

if there is no pressure gauge and you have an external pump then your system will be gravity fed. the system should fill itself via an f and e cistern. the system needs to bled of all the air before turning any power on. to do this you need to vent the radiators from the lowest point to the highest point. if they do not vent then there could be an air blockage in the pipework. if you have your pump running while it is empty of water then you will burn out the pump and cause possible other damage
