Water filling front passenger footwell of my VW Golf?

Water is running down inside the bodywork and ending up in the foot-well.
I've obviously got a blocked channel somewhere below the windscreen but where ?

Thanks Wendy. Just read your suggestion but can you say about where under the windscreen ? Left, right, middle ? Thanks.

I had the same problem, it was a blockage under the bonnet- right up under the windscreen, there is supposed to be a drain hole, mine was clogged with dirst and leaves when i bought it, didn't even know it was there, but once it was cleared no more water inseide the car.

Thanks but mine's an M Reg and don't think I've a pollen filter !

I'd check the pollen filter area. On some VW group cars the waterproof cover over the pollen filter in the bulkhead vent well is often either cracked or hasn't been properly replaced. This allows water into the car and saturates the passenger footwell carpet.
