varitas r8? alarm misbehaves after a power black out?

I have a veritas installed and has always worked perfectly until we had a power failure. when power came back, the alarms went off, they would not respond to the codes until I had to remove the fuses. Since then it has developed a new chime and the strobe outside is flashing white all the time 24/7. any help is greatly appreciated.

Nick your a puppy :D

Err I think its a battery issue myself and your all wrong.

Alarm, June 2011
Hi GTS, i tell you why they dont think of the battery, is because all the ones i go out to say to me, how can it be the battery when its rechargeable. Which is one of the many reasons why i love Scantronic, apart from being fantastic panels, As you know it comes up Battery missing, and we switch the tamper engineer reset on just to make sure i get the call.
This week ive been out to a Scantronic 8136 and a 9448+ both very hot because of batteries,
The battery from the 8136 was so hot i couldnt hold it, and i let the customer touch it just to high-light the need to service her system.
And a note to the general public.
The engineers writing on this forum are very experienced and have been involved in the industry for a combined time of over 200 years,

If I had the time & patience, I'd check all of the 4038 questions here & work out the percentage where BATTERY is the answer.

Bet it's about 90% though
