erratic speedo needle?

Astra g 1.8 sxi 52 reg . speedo needle moves between rest and maximum first 20 seconds after start up then works perfectly. thinking of changing speed sensor on gearbox . anybody had this problem ?

oh this post has a little more info.. Had prob with alternator spikes just after startup causing this aswell as power steering shut downs
