I have a Volkswagon Golf FSI S 5 door hatchback, reg Sept 2007. The central locking on the front passenger door will not work so I can't open the door at all. It has happened once before but suddenly rectified itself, now it seems perminent. You can hear all the other doors unlock but this one just faintly tries.
Obviously a bad design is there a way of releasing the lock.
Suggestions welcomed.

You might get it open by banging on the door near the lock while operating the central locking. Otherwise it's a trip to the garage to get a new lock or actuator fitted.
