Why is my car making this noise?

Hello, my peugeot 206 03 reg makes a loud sort of whirring noise, a bit like the sound the wind can make, when i turn the steering wheel to the left, no matter what speed i am doing. The noise goes away when the wheel is straight or turned right. This noise has got louder and im quite concerned. Do you know what the problem could be?

Hi Nicole, you really need someone qualified to have a look as this could be serious? to give you some ideas

Loud squeel when steering turned - Power Steering pump duff or low fluid or belt slipping?

Humming sound from wheel - wheel bearing on its way out (could shatter under pressure)

Something scraping ie inner wheel arch dropped

Whistling noise usually air pipe come off engine/air box etc

If i had to guess without giving it a spin i would say one of your front wheel bearings have gone prob the near side?

Hope this helps but please get it checked out?

take a look under the car with the wheels all the way to the right or left, could be something rubbing, or problem with the powersteering, get somebody to take a look at it,
