car over heats?

i have a rangerover 4.6 hse 1999 it over heats all the time and uses water it isnt mixing with oil but there is air in the pipes

hi mark i had the same problem it turned out to be a cylinder ring came lose.i cannot see it being an air lock as they sort them self's out,dose it come up to temp quickly from cold! if it dose have the cylinder's pressure tested
this will show it up,it cost me 3 grand new cylinder block!

i have the same problem with my car, if its not mixing with the engine oil, your cylinder head has no crack yet. The cylinder head gasket is worned out or depleted which causes the engine to overheat. Better have your car be top overhauled and replace the cylinder head gasket and stop using it to minimize the cost of repair.
