CL = Child Lock ;)
You can activate and release by holding two buttons in which I can't recall offhand but it will be in the user manual and indicated on the control panel by a smiley face normally :)

You hold in the 'Wash' and 'Rinse' buttons - our 2 year old must have engaged the child lock by accident - it didn't even know the machine had one and never would of guessed without your help.
