optima g3 alarm false intrution ?

We have an optima g3 alarm system on our boat. Everything is fine until we fire up the bow thrusters which sets the alarm off. We have no idea why and would like to know if there is a way to disable the system while we travel. The funny thing is that the two things aren't connected. Kind regards Chris

you could fit a one microfarad capacitor across the mains feed to the panel,if you boat is big enough to have a 240 vlt genny, this will sooth out the voltage spikes you may get as you fire up the thrusters, they are drained to earth, just a thought,

aye captain, you gotta watch those thrusters, might blow the dilithem crystals,:-)

Duff battery allowing the control panel to be 'upset' by the electrical interference caused by the firing of the thrusters.

In other words, replace the duff (alarm) battery
