My Fiat Punto Selecta 60 takes a while to go into gear after the engine has been started. It is an automatic gearbox, which has never let me down until recently. After first starting the engine and selecting drive or reverse, I have to wait for a while until it 'kicks in' to gear. It doesn't make a difference how warm the engine is, it can happen again even if the car has been running, stopped, and then started again. PLEASE HELP???

I'm guessing it's the ecvt transmissin. you may have a stick/faulty throttle switch. It's by the peddle and you shuld be able to hear it if you get down in the footwell and work the peddle.
