dishwasher powder not disolving properly?

I have a Slimline Zanussi dishwasher Tempoline. I use a dishwash powder. The machine is not taking all the powder during the wash, there is some left in the dispenser and also when using tablets they do not disolve at all.

sounds like you have a heater prob,or could be a pressure prob,how often do you clean out the spray arms?
