Anyone experienced peugeot 206SW just turning over and not firing?

My car tried starting for 15 mins straight....just turning over and over and not firing......stopped because did not want to drain the battery...

Went back 10 mins later and started first time???
Weird????

Any advice on this greatly appreciated

if your car is a petrol engine then it will be the engine crank sensor going down this is a common fault in french cars as we are always changing them in my garage
