Electrical wire which goes in the machine has snapped. how would I reconnect?

this is how i would try do it on the little information you supplied
take the machine apart, find where the mains cable connects to, remake/renew the cable connection ends (may need to buy some small spade connections ) reattach your new made connections to the switch rebuilt the machine.
