changed the battery in the external bell box,the alarm control panel sets okay but the bell is continiously sounding,the original cause was squirrels chewed through the cable going to the bell which i have repaired but unable to sort out the bell.any suggestions please.the alarm is an accenta.

your better of just replacing the bell box,why bother messing about changing batteries,thats if you have checked the source of supply,(fuse blown)?and the power is getting to the bell module,and your getting a return to panel,do the standard tests,that will tell you where your prob is,

Check your repair.
If wiring to bell box is wrong, it will sound off. No other reason, except mentioned above, i.e tamper switch not operated, is cover fully seated, and tight?? Did you catch the lever for the tamper micro switch, If it is a micro switch. is tamper indicated on control? If not, would think your repair. Check it, very easy to connect wrong. done it myself.

If you cut the cable (squirrels) alarm will go off. If the tamper switch in the box is not seated properly (as if someone tried to open bellbox to stop bell sounding before they break in) - alarm will go off. If both these are ok and it still goes off,last resort may be to disconnect the battery in the bellbox,which will leave it vunerable but your neighbours will not beat you to death after lying awake all night listening to your alarm.
