The problem is probably not the switch but a fault dysons suffer on a regular basis , the cable blows at the point it enters the machine. check to see if there is a small hole in the cable at the entry point to the machine . The cable bends at this point when in use and it becomes a weak spot. If you loop the cabe in your hand when using the machine , it will prevent the problem in future .
