Hi. My CTD00 Hotpoint Aquarious Tumble Dryer has stopped turning the drum round. It is still warming up as it should. Could this be the belt? Is it easy and cheap to repair? Thanks
I have taken apart the dryer to get to the drum. The belt looks a little frayed but when I turn drum clockwise the belt moves with drum. But when I turn drum anticlockwise belt does not move. Thanks

need to check the drive belt intact
need to check the mains capacitor is not weeping or bulging
need to check motor brushes
