using a bosch PIR on a veritas 8 system?

I have a veritas 8 system and one of the detectors is faulty not working. I tested power to the PIR and that is ok, a friend gave me a brand new bosch quad detector, and would be great if i could use this, could someone advise what resistor i would need to use if i can use it at all?

Thanks

nicks reply was patronising and rude, fair enough he did apologise ,mabe he had a bad day,but technically he was way out of line.

gts, July 2011

Thanks guys , I dont mind taking the brunt of your bad day, aslong as you end up giving me the advise i need and the eduction along with it is ok too. Nick your obviously a very smart person, I guess you just lack people skills, but i still appreciate the help, as painfull as people like you are, its always good to have you around when needed.

Thanks Again.

Oh GTS i was having a bit of fun, I was board yes, just thought id wind up another poor member of the clue-less public in simple form. Appologies to David as i went off in a totally different direction, Sorry if i totally confused the question

Nick, July 2011
yep

Alarm, July 2011
does alarm guy and acorn agree?

gts, July 2011
and am not being smart, just basic physics.so nick,if your going to give advice, make it accurate.:-)

ac is more properly called unidirectional dc,as the sine wave shows it goes from positive to negative, check it out on an oscilloscope.nick should know that,by cutting into the sine wave we get ac.that is how the washing machine manufactures use dc motors on the earlier washing machines they fit a dc module to control the speed of the motor.so david dont be put off by the reply you got from nick.

sorry david just wire it up same as your old pir,it will work.i think nick must have been on the vino :-)

gts, July 2011
here here guys,we not on this site to take the piss out of people, nick has went down a long way in my opinion
his talk is on the level of his intellect .

Couldn't agree more, Nicks post, in this case, is totally unwarranted

Were you bored Nick?
We may take the pee out of questions, but your really scraping the bottom of the scum infested barrel here.
At least be witty in a retort.

Are you a catfish or a bottom scum feeder?

one more thing, nick the pir draws 50 ma,and what is that nick??a 20 of one amp,one amp =about 250 watts,
and what does watts =?power ,here endith the lesson !!

gts, July 2011
and a modest one !!!! :-) now now nick, your assuming david knows nothing, you know fine well what the guy ment, your just having fun, arnt you?you know the old saying, its better to keep quiet and let people think your stupid, than open your mouth and prove it,!!:-)

gts, July 2011
By the way David, there isnt power at any detector, All detectors run on DC voltage. Power is Watts. Sorry ive probably lost you,
Just a very clever engineer being clever.

Nick, July 2011
yes you can use it,you dont need a resistor, just wire it up same way as your old pir
