this tumble dryer is quite old about 14 years but hasn't ever had a problem until last week it starting cutting out after about 2 minutes ,i pressume a thermostate problem, i have tried pushing the reset button but it doesn't click and it trips the whole house, is this something i can do or do i call out a local repair man / lady , but dont want to be ripped off , have been in the past. or is it better just to condem it

need to check element and wiring.if you remove the whole back panel you can strip it down to check condition etc.repair cost is going to be nearly the same as a new one but its up to you.I wouldn't advise repairing something that old unless doing the repair myself!!
