Is my washing machine worth repairing ?

I have a 3 year old Zanussi washing machine ZWF16281W which just stopped mid cycle showing Error 40.

An engineer thinks its the Main Circuit Board and has quoted over £100 to repair.

I would like to know if I should cut my losses and just buy another machine.

e40 is a door lock issue however if the lock has a brown burn mark in the centre of it it could be that it has blown the main pcb.did he pull the door seal off and remove the door lock to check it?
