K01 Excess keys RESET Required? Can anybody help?

We have 9930 alarm with 9651 keypad i think, the wife decide to do some spring cleaning today and decided to dust the keypad causing the alarm to go off, she entered the code which turned the alarm off but left a message saying K01 Tamper RESET Required, so she pressed the code again and possible once more and now the message reads K01 Excess Keys RESET Required. The spanner symbol is lit up Red. Can anyone please help?
Thanks in Advance

I recently had this problem and was advised by a service engineer to key in the following:

Enter: 2235
Press: X
Press: tick

Wait 2-3 minutes and then the navigation pad changes to green.

You might be able to enter engineering mode using the default code 07890 or 7890 and then your user or admin code.
If you get in there should be a setting to reset tampers.
Other versions require you to press 99 then tick.

I wonder if anyone can help same issue as above but the engineer code is not working is there anyway around this?

Hi,
Sorry for jumping on Jay's problem but I have the exact same so would be very interested in how/if it was resolved. My alarm is displaying 'K01 Excess keys' and is requesting a reset but want to avoid calling out an engineer. I have tried to follow the advice above but without success so replies using fool proof instructions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Jay you are so lucky, incredibly lucky in fact. Now enter
99 tick
Will say checking Bus
Then will say exit Eng
You then press tick again
providing the fault is no longer it will return back to normal time and date.

Hi there,

it's the 9651 system,
I've pressed the engineers code 07890 and the display now say Installer mode, not sure what to do now?

Jay, July 2011
1st things 1st, 9930 - that's just the keypad, the system behind it is likely to be a 9651 or 9751, etc.

I assume it's now some time since this all happened, so go back & try again, should work now.

What happened is that the panel saw numerous key presses.
A 4 digit code becomes an 8 digit code becomes a 12 digit code etc = Excess keys etc.

The panel started to 'think' that someone was trying to find the code, so did what it should, locked out for a time.

If an error is made when putting in a code, step back & wait a few moments then enter again, don't panic, don't panic, they don't like too many presses up em.
