I would like to program prices on department keys. It is a small menu, can I do this and so do you know how? My question has nothing to do with tax this is just the only site I could find regarding the Royal 500dx

I would like to make sure how to program tax rate , 8.3 , after press 001 for dept 1 , and then press check, i should press 8300 ten press 1/9 key , then done?

You have to do step 9 on the instructions before you can add tax. Step 9 is setting the department 1 as taxable. Slide to program. Press 001 for taxable department and press check. Step 3 tells you to enter 249 as the price. I entered 100 though to represent 1 dollar. After entering 100 press the 1/9 key. Which is the department. Now go back to R1. Enter 998 for your price as an example. Press 1/9 which is the department (so it knows what tax to add). Then press total. It should show your total with tax added.
