Replace Simpson Dryer Drum belt?

What is the procedure to replace a dryer drum belt on the Simpson dryer including refitting the belt adjuster.
Paul T, July 2011
Just finished mine. Do the above, lift the crum out of its guide around the front door and move it up to the area of the motor. Run the belt around the drum and motor and manouvre around pulley then pull the drum back and place it back in the guide. Place the large tin back plate over the bearing and put 4 corner screws in place, do the rear bearing washers and nut and continue doing the srews around the edge. Before you do the oval plate sit the dryer up and turn the drum via the door. This will ensure it is eated and the belt is OK. I then ran the unit for about 3 minutes to let the belt settle. replace the ocal plate and you have spent less than $40 and done the labour the local guy quoted to start at $100. and th unit will be fine.

First open the door and record the model number for spares. Unplug the unit. Then lay the unit face down on some towels on the ground so you can work easily.Take off the back oval cover the undo the bearing nut and washers. Remove the rest of the srews and unclip the power cables. You should now be looking at the belt running around the motor shaft, the idler pulley and the drum. Take note and replace as it comes off. I am just doing mine but didn't review the belt track, but will work it out.
