fiat punto mk2 wipers end third of way up windscreen?

hi, punto wipers stop third of way up windscreen and go down before coming up the screen and finish approx third back up windscreen ! is this the linkage or something else ? any answers much appreciated , thanks

check the nuts under the wiper arm,they can loosten off and jump the splines so the arm is out of position
