I have a similar problem. I replaced drum bearing, what a b****r! After finally putting it back together I found it made more noise than before. The noise is comming from the fan catching the housing in my case but god knows how I can fix it. I'll have another go tomorrow, but it will probably end up on the tip. I'd hate to have to do this for a living I'm absolutely Knackered! These things are designed to be disposed of rather than mended. Good luck with yours and may the force be with you.
