change of exhaust?

i have fiat punto took for mot and it failed on emmisions .they said i would have to replace part where cat convertor is £180 .is it possible to change for standard exhaust without out having cat .really thinking of cost here. thanks for your help jean

You can't avoid it,it is a standard exhaust,wear and tear, bite the wallet and pay up,no MOT no run car no sell car,easy.
