My Picasso (05 1.6 HDI with climate control) heater blower is on FULL all the time regardless of the setting. All I can do is take out the fuse, not good :-(

The climate control blower motor has no resistors, it is accessed through the glove compartment and must be exchanged as a complete unit

The confusion here is regarding the different types of heating/air con fitted. The manual version (snowflake button) does have the resistor in the fresh air inlet duct above the clutch pedal. I think can be accessed through the recirculation air port on the duct. Set to recirculation and reach inside through the port, resistor can be removed as others have described

Location: The heater resistor unit is located in the upper part of the air vent near the fan/blower. It can be accessed through the passenger foot well after the glove compartment and the central lower facia has been removed. It takes about an hour to three hours of persevering work to finish the job.
Tools: In addition to the special screw-driver to remove the screws, small bright torch, spanner (size 10). New heater resistor cost about 18- 20 pounds at Citroen dealer.
Removing the Lower central facia:
1. Remove footrest beside clutch. Bolt at the back and screw on floor.
2. Remove lower central facia. Screws and studs on both sides and two screws under central facia glove-box and at floor level in apertures. Remove lighter, ashtray and glove box. Disconnect all wires. Pull central facia away, it should come easily. If there is resistance you have missed a screw or two, check again.
Removing the Glove box:
3. Remove felt under passenger glove box via three studs at front and one at back. Look under glove box and undo nut from bolt. Remove glove door.
4. Undo about 10 screws and remove entire glove box. Shine a torch in the top of the exposed central console. You will be able to see the blower motor with a two-wire connector. Disconnect plug. If you squeeze on the ends this will release the plug. If there are screws undo them. Prise gently a stop-clip and twist motor clockwise and it will come away. Wiggle it gently to get it clear.
It will help if you have the new part to hand so you know what you are looking for. Look into the space and you will see the resistor in upper part of casing.
5. Slightly twist and pull, it will come out. There is 5 centimeters of flex in the wire. Disconnect the wires from the old resistor by pressing the ends and pulling slightly. Plug the wires into the new resistor and start the reverse process.
6. Put resistor back through hole and twist into place, Wiggle blower back into position, and twist anti clockwise into position. You should hear a ‘click’. Reconnect plug to motor and check that blower works on all settings before putting everything back in place.

Twist motor clockwise and it will come away. Wiggle it gently to get it clear.Disconect plugg. look into the space and you will see resistor in upper part of casing. Slightly twist and it will come out. There are three or four inches of give in the wire. Shine in torch and remove the the electical plug. If you squeeze on the ends this will release the plug. It will help if you have the part to hand so you know what you are looking at. Cost me 22 ponds at Citreon dealer. Put plug into new part. Feed back through hole and twist into place, Wiggle blower back into position, you can line it up with an inlet on the left hand side of the motor and twist anticlock wise into position, Reconet plug to motor and check that blower works on all settings before putting every thing back in place, Disregard all the stuff about drivers foot well . dont know what planet these guys are on. I wasted hours and hours on there nonsense.

hi did you ever get this fixed as mine is not working and i cant find any resistor on driver side mine is built in to the blower

If the fan doesn't work at all it's likely the fault lies with the ignition switch wiring. Seems strange,but true,did one at work today. Requires a new ignition switch and cables(attached) fron citroen dealer or specialist supplier. D.I.Y. or garage is up to you ablility.If ,however the fan runs on full speed only the fault will be the resistor which is part of the fan motor assembly,again not difficult to change if you are competent d.i.y er

Hi Kevin
Sorry but there is no Resistor in the driver's footwell, I have checked many times already. From photos from other websites, the drivers footwell does not look anythig like the photos showing where the resistor should be.
As this model has Climate Control, I believe it has the resistor built into the control unit that is built onto the Heater blower itself.

It sounds as though the resistor has blown. quite easy to replace, its located in the drivers footwell on the heater console. Takes about 15mins. good luck
