How do I take apart the foot pedal on my Bernina Activa 135? ?

I can see where the red wire is broken so I know what the problem is but am not sure how to take it apart to get onside. Any helpers??!

If I remember on that foot control there should be a long bar that goes all the way through and where the top part of ther control fits over the bottom there should be a spring clip either side which is a bit awkward to get to.
