I have a John Lewis American Fridge Freezer Code Number JLAFFS2009. I have changed the water filter like the machine said and held the button down for 3 seconds but it keeps on flashing change filter. Why?

get the light on "water" and then hold the two buttons, "dispenser" & "Lock (unlock)" together for approx five seconds and the filter change light will reset. For some reason, JL never thought of updating their manual and like everyone else it took me a few hours to figure....& bought new cheaper catridges at £6...working perfectly...share the love
