canon ir 1600 print faded?

the machine was printing faded copies so i have changed the toner as per usual, but the problem still exists.

One possible solution, ck to see if the image on the drum are normal. If it is, ck the contact for the transfer roller is not stuck in the down position or damaged. Remove the side cover and reform the contact if necessary.
