is it normal for timing chain to break on vauxhall agila 80,000 miles?

i heard this is a common fault with vauxhalls.if so will vauxhall contribute to repairs

thanks for your quick reply chicksfan.i had a fsh up till 2006 but then the servicing died away as money was tight..so its "guilty as charged ! " then thanks anyway

Have you got full service history? Many folk don't give their engines an annual oil and filter change. The timing chain can then wear prematurely.

You normally get some warning because the engine begins to rattle for a while before the chain breaks. If the rattle is ignored.................
