how do i fix my renault laguna?

My 06 renault laguna 1.9 diesel showed error "check emmissions",took it to local garage and they said they had reset fault but when i started it to drive off forecourt,it showed "check handbrake fault"and would not reset by garage.They now say it needs a handbrake module which will cost £600 approx as part cant be got 2nd hand.Any ideas please??

Well Windyboy, you like many, many others before you have found to your cost that Renault electrics are c**p. £600 for a handbrake module to fix the problem, then, once that is fitted it will come up with another fault, more money to fix that. Cut your losses, take it to a scrappy, put the £600 plus your scrappy money into a more reliable motor, that means nothing French.
