How do I remove the switch housing from my Dyson DC-04?

The flex has broken at the point where the wire enters the switch and I need to replace the end of the wire. How do I remove the switch housing to get at the wire? A diagram would be really great!

I repair Dysons for a living and its no big secret really.
All the tool repair shops use a short bare shafted terminal screw driver.. It is bent 90degs and about an inch in from the end.
Unplug the Dyson first mind.. Grab a can of furniture polish and spray into the switch...
Push the tool into the small hole and lever the switch button out... Ta Da
Thats the easy part, the rest will remain with me till I am on my death bed, which with the amount of dyson bin dust I inhale everyday shouldnt be too long.....

You have to remove the yellow button. Looking at the button from above there is a tiny hole between it and the main handle. Insert a small but strong long thin screwdriver into this hole to lever the button out [in the end I found a metal kebab skewer worked best]. The button has a locking tab at the base and using the skewer you to need to push it away from the handle and lever up at the same time. For a diagram go to www.ukvacuumspares.co.uk/_private/misi.htm

With the button off you remove one torq screw and you can pull the whole switch unit up and out.

You may slightly damage the button and the housing but mine went back fine.

I have the same problem and have stripped my DC04 down and can't see a way of getting at the switch without risking damaging the cleaner. I understand that a special tool is required to extract the switch from the housing. Only Dyson engineers have this and they charge a flat rate of £55.00 for a service visit.
