how can i fix my peugeot speedfight x-team 50cc, W reg?

hi, i have a speedfight and i ended up seizing the piston. so i replaced the piston, rings and gaskets n got it professionally put back together, it worked absolutely fine for about 2 hours then on my way home i slowed down to do about 15-20 mph and the engine just cut out?...... as i came to try and restart it there just seems to be no power what so ever in the starter button, not even the little red light lights up to says theres a fault and there is no sound what so ever so it cant be seized as its brand new, but all the lights and horn etc work. i have checked the fuse next to the battery and its fine. i cant use my kick start to start the scooter as the mechanism teeth have broken off, so i was wondering if you could help about the starter, as i dont no what it could be. thanks sam

How much did all the pistons and bits cost as mine ran out of oil and i think the engine has been siezed up and i might need to replace all of it,
Thanks,

I had a similar problem with my peugeot trekker only yesterday. what had happened to mine was the sprocket attached to the starter motor was unable to move out to engace with the other teeth; so the starter motor was running but not engaging (they are very quiet- almost silent). i took the casing of the drive beltand loosened up the sprocket, checked it worked without the casing on and put it all abck together!! (there are 7(i think) 8mm bolts holding the caseing on. so the only tool i needed was an 8mm socket!! good luck

well sam it could well be seized again as there must have been a reason for it seizing before, has the oil pump been checked to see if it is actually pumping 2 stroke oil into the carb?if it has seized up then the electic start will not be able to turn the engine over, did you run the new piston in ?(Half throttle) for 500 miles as that is what needs to be done .you cannot just rebuild an engine and thrash it straight away as it will seize up for sure.i would take the starter motor off its between the stand bolt pionts and see if it turns when you press the start button ,you will have to press it against a metal part of the engine so it can earth,if it does spin round then there is a good chance you have seized it up you will then need to take the barel and piston off and start again m8.
