hedge cutter blades runs on ?

I have a JCB electric hedge cutter with electric brake fitted. it has now developed a fault, what happens is when i release the trigger, the blades are continuing to run on and slow down for approx 5-10 seconds then stop. whereas before when machine was new they would stop running in 1-2 seconds from flat out with (electric brake working) after trigger was released.

how do i fix this problem

Hay mate dont read the dick heads comments that they put on line.Look for an adjusting screw that may be near the trigger or below on its own
