My Indesit Is70c thermal cut outs keep failing .. Why?

My indesit IS70C thermal cut outs have been reset with a pin after it started blowing cold air. This worked for about 10 minutes then cold air started again. Why could this be happening? What else affects the cut outs?

air is drawn in through the grill at the bottom right hand side and delivered to the heater via the fan at the back, if the front fan is blocked with hair/fluff or if the drum is impeded (belt slipping etc) the fan will not get enough air to the heater and will trip the one shot

When the stat is reset with a pin there is a chance the bi metalic strip will weld shut therefore it will be unable to trip as is intended, also each time its reset it reduces the integrity of the component resulting in more frequent failures

i know it says on here and on other sites that this is an accepted method of repair but be very careful, if there was to be a fire and it can be proved this procedure has been carried out you will not be covered by the manufacturer or your insurer

dont mean to sound like the prophet of doom but fore-warned is fore-armed

good luck

The dryer has been and is regulary cleaned as per handbok / manual. Other posts say you can reset the couplars the pne with a hole in in... It works for a little while... What could restrict the air flow? Its been in same place in garage, cleaned for 3 yrs?

whover reset it with a pin is a naughty boy/girl, could easily have gone on fire, the one shot stat goes for a reason (normally restricted airflow), these are NOT resettable stats. replace the stats and clean out condenser as per user handbook
