Turn the mains off if the system dies?

"Turn the mains off if the system dies - change the battery."

Taken from advise given in some previous posts.

Please don't take this as the correct way to test a battery.

It's not.

BUT, it will give a false sense of security if nothing seems to go wrong.

it may be a fancy act meter to you tom tv ,but to the guys on here its just a basic tool,and we know what type of site this is thank you,

This is a site for folks that are not engineers hence most of them will not own a fancy ACT meter or even a basic multi-meter. Generally a quick way to diagnose if you have none of the above. Sorry.
