1994 1.1 ford fiesta engine cuts out?

my 1994 fiesta 1.1lx engine cuts out this from time to time. AA said that it could be the 'fuel pump relay' or 'crank sensor' it will turn over but not fire. it will start again in 10-15mins time. has anyone had a problem like this and got it sorted?

This seems to be a common problem, but I don't know a cure. If you pull out fuse number 19 (20Amp), it isolates the fuel pump. The car then starts- put the fuse back and it goes. This seems to work every time and I am seriously considering putting a switch is circuit to make this easier. Finding the cause would be better though!
