Over heated new head went on but now won't start?

Over heated so had new head and gasket fitted but it's all built up and won't start

when turning over, does it sound like it's turning faster than usual?if so maybe rings have siezed in grooves on pistons if it was very hot! did you check bores whilst head was off for signs that pistons may have partially siezed in bores! i'm assuming you have checked for fuel/spark/timing etc [dont know what vehicle you have as batteries have run out on crystal ball]
