Zanussi ZWF14070W Washing Machine?

Washing machine starts cycle by filling up, but then nothing. Motor does not start, and drum does not move. Drum rotates freely by hand, in fact probably too freely, as there does not appear to be any drag at all. Would the motor fail to start if the belt was broken, or is it possibly brushes?
Lights at the front appear normal.

The drum does spin freely, before a fair bit of pressure was needed to move it by hand. Does the motor detect the belt is off, as it does not attempt to start?
Machine is almost 4 years old, and I've never had any other problems with it.
It was creaking a bit before it stopped working, so I suspect the belt has snapped.
Is it easy enough to fit a replacement belt?

if the drum when spun free wheels for a long time then the belt has come off.If the motor doesn't rotate it could be a wiring issue or motor brushes but on average a set of brushes last 4yrs plus
