Can I replace a ceramic hob with any other make?

I need a replacement ceramic hob as its completely cracked.

Can I replace with any other make/model of ceramic hob or does it need to be same make as the fitted oven we have that matched it?

as long as it has been installed with the correct cable in the 1st place the slight power rating differences are not an issue to the wiring.Well within spec.you can check power rating on your old one prior to going out to buy your new on.Usually on the underside there is a rating plate with the info on

Great. Thanks for the advice.

I was worried they may have different power ratings or such.

Thanks.

if the hole in the work unit is cut tight/correctly then you should be able to replace with any make but I have had experiences where the worktop has been cut out far to big and it is difficult to cover with a different hob.you can screw bits of wood to the inside edge of the worktop to give extra support if it is a little large on the cut out.measure the glass hob across the top both ways on yours and as long as it is the same or slightly bigger on the new one it can be fitted
