burning smell and strange clicking on my Proline TDV60?

there seems to be a strange clicking noise on my tumble dryer (proline TDV60) I have taken apart the small casing on the back of the machine that has a triangle symbol with wavy lines in side (could that symbol mean heat?) and noticed there was a rotating (only when drum was moving, obviosly) bolt with 2 prongs sticking out, there was also a copper piece of metal that when the bolt was moving, the prongs were catching against the copper creating the clicking noise,so i bent the copper metal back a bit so it stopped catching on the two prongs, screwed the small casing back on, the click has to seemed to stop (effectively) and now theres a werid burning smell.
Does anyone know the answer to my problem, any feedback would be 100% grateful. thanks!

Hi
Hope you get an answer to your question as mine (same model) started the clicking noise yesterday and I did the same "fix" as you but a bit worried re potential overheating but it has not started to overheat yet ?
