new clutch in fiat punto?

hi, the punto auto saga continues (wont engage reverse gear)i have obtained a secondhand auto gearbox today (punto 60 selecta mk 1), dont even know if it works, but for the pittance i paid for it.its worth the risk!.
does anyone know exactly how they work and what should i check for before fitment, how is the clutch removed? there seems to be a strange cover\plate in the gearbox that doesnt appear to be bolted on yet am unable to remove, any ideas greatly appreciated

Mk1 automatic fiat puntos have a magnetic powder clutch these are separate from the gearbox they are removed from the flywheel by 4bolts on the back of the flywheel they are controlled by electric magnetic force sticking the powder together creating drive from the engine

Ignore the other post. It does have a clutch, it's not an oil problem. The commonest fault with this unit is the powder clutch binding. This will cause difficulty in engaging gears (crunching) and possible damage to selector assy. If it's like this it can be hard to remove from bellhousing. The chances are the clutch may be the same in the used box.

Auto gearboxes don't have a clutch. The strange cover\ plate is a torque converter. Did you bother to check the transmission fluid level before getting the secondhand gearbox. A lot of g/box problems are due to lack of fluid.
