Every few days i have to put a battery booster on my car to get it started. Im not sure whether or not the battery is not holding its charge or whether the altinator has gone. any ideas?

i would get your local garage to test the alternator and battery shouldent cost a lot

If the battery is more than 6 or 7 years old the chances are you need a new one.

If the car has done a really high mileage then the chances are the alternator is on its last legs. However, if it is not charging your battery there should be a red warning light on your dash.

The cooler autumn mornings tend to sort out those batteries that are past their best.
