check the washer pump it on the out said of the washer bottel you can get thease frome halfords

Hi Julie, a very common fault on Vauxhall Cavaliers is for the washer/wiper switch to fail. normally the first sign of its failure is the intermittent wipe not working. This is the first place i would look if you say there is no motor sound as it is wired straight to the switch. You can pick one of these up from a scrappie for £10 and they are dead easy to fit. If the supply fuse was blown the wipers wouldn't work either (this is 30Amp fuse 6) as they are wired on the same circuit. next stop is to blow through the piping from the motor to the jets with pressursed air and finally to clear the jets insert a small pin into them but be careful as moving it adjusts the angle of the washer jetstream on to the window...
