Can you connect an external hard drive to a laptop via wifi?

Can you connect an ordinary external hard drive to a wifi router so that you can connect via the wifi to a laptop?

Thank you T,
Think I'll have to look for external hard drive that comes with an ethernet cable to connect to my router

I depends on the router and the "ordinary" external hard disk. SOME routers have a built-in USB port that you can attach and external USB hard disk.

If you router does not have USB port then you will need to connect the disk to some kind of server.
