I got a very nice Rowenta iron at a thrift store for a few bucks , maybe a couple of years ago? After using it I saw why it was donated. It leaks like a sieve. From what I’m reading here about the repair for this iron…it’s probably not worth bothering myself or spending money on it. Unless I just had loads of time on my hands (I don’t) and liked to tinker around with things ( I do, but can’t take the time. right now.) I’m keeping it as an extra iron (I’ve got a Black & Decker steam iron that works .) MY SOLUTION is to keep a spray mist bottle of water near by and get the moisture that way. Grant it, it’s not as good as the misting system that was built-in to the iron, but at least it prevents it from being a total throwaway. If I had spent a lot of money on this iron, I’d be pretty upset if it started leaking after I’d only had it a short while. Good luck, whatever you decide to do about your repair or not.
