AEG Öko-Lavamat Turbo 14800?

During washing or drying a synthetic headpillow the pillow got torn and the content spread through the machine. I have removed the synthetic materials as best as I could (drum, manchet, filter) as best as I could, several times.

Ran a rinse-program several times but the machine stops working every time it tries to spin the drum. It wil rotate and spin for a few seconds and then winds down. Presumably because there is still material from the pillow outside of the drum.

How can I reach the space between the drum and it's container so I can remove the rest?

Hi killerdanny

The problem was caused by the tachometer which measures the rotationspeed of the drum. It had become loose so the machine didn't get info how fast the drum was spinning and therefor halted the program. This was the reason the drum went into maximumspeed even when it wanted to make just a few rotations to balance a load.

This meter should be held in place with a metal ring but that was nowhere to be found. It's fixed now with drops of silicone. Hopefully this solution will last a long time.

Thank you so much for all your efforts to solve my problem. It was greatly appreciated

hi wim,my main concern was your machine was blocked with debris ,we now know it is emptying ,.as long as drum is not sitting in a pool of water we must now assume its emptying fully.lets now move on to the reason for not spinning ,the drum sensor as you rightly say will reverse and turn several times to even out the load and you will get a indication of this by way of awarning light which you are not getting .I now suggest replacing motor brushes /easily replaced/. these brushes ware down over time and is a common fault in most washers for a non spin . I had to take you through the drainage route first because I didn't want to suggest brushes before I fully understood what was happening with your machine ,.iam now confident in now saying the motor brushes need to be replaced . you can get a new set from most domestic appliance shops .its most likely nothing to do with the pillow , just general ware and tear.

I have tried several programs. Rinse and short and long spin etc. Everytime the drum starts spinning up it stops and winds down the spinning, just as it does when it detects an unbalanced load. But usually, when the load is not balanced, the machine makes a few tumbles to correct that and tries the spin again. Now it waits just a while and starts spinning up with the same results. After a few tries it stops the program.
Just found the manual again and there appears to be a warning signal when the water has not been fully drained. Haven't noticed that signal.

So that's why I think there is some crap messing with the spinning sensor and that's why I would like to know if it possible to reach the space between the drum and the outerdrum.

yeh clean out this rubber pipe / clean out pump /clean out pump filter .

you are not on rinse and hold setting are you? ,if not can you select spin only and see if machine spins up .if you have water emptying fully now and still won't spin then I wonder if there is a drum sensor and as you say they still could be a large build up of crap between drum and outer drum, convincing the machine that the drum is off center hence no spin. if that is the case then you will have to keep flushing through try rinse and hold .if still won't spin I can only suggest replacing motor bushes ,sorry that's all I can think of right now,if I think of owt else I will add .

Thank you so much. Will try that tomorrow, when I have an extra pair of hands available. It will be quite a problem to get the machine from it's current position :-( but I guess it's worth the trouble.

I hope this will solve the problem.

hi access it from under machine ,you will see the hose going from the drum to the pump ,

killerdanny, October 2011
Additional info: when doing a rinse or a spin program, I hear water being pumped through the drain, but you think not everything has been drained from the drum?

Wim Prange, October 2011
Hi killerdanny, thank you so much for your help.
With "hose from drum to pump", you mean inside the machine? And how do I get there, remove the back panel?

Wim Prange, October 2011
hi the problem here is with the pump ,blocked with all that crap lol .don't panic just clean out hose from drum to pump .reason for not spinning machine sensing too much water due to blockage .leave the door seal alone you need twelve pair of hands to refit lol ,may block again, just clean out pump again.if your washer waste pipe is connected to your kitchen sink trap keep a eye on that for blockage .hope this helps.
