"you may not be able to isolate that sensor only"

Why not?

"you will have to omit the whole zone,eg zone 1 downstairs ,zone 2 upstairs etc .find out which zone its on and omit that zone"

You really don't know how alarms work do you?

"try slipping some aluminum foil between the contacs"

You've been watching too many American Cop progs.

you may not be able to isolate that sensor only ,you will have to omit the whole zone,eg zone 1 downstairs ,zone 2 upstairs etc .find out which zone its on and omit that zone , just remember that there won't be any intruder protection..try slipping some aluminum foil between the contacs.also trace wire back from magnetic switch to user box and inspect wire for damage especially if it runs under floofing.press omit ,enter zone eg 1 press enter.

Why?
It's part of your security system.

What's the problem?
I expect we can sort you out.
